Work zone accident claimed three young men’s lives

According to recent news reports, a box truck collided with a construction vehicle. Reportedly, there was no decrease in the truck’s speed while passing through the construction zone just outside of Statesville. The force of the truck’s collision with an inactive vehicle resulted in the fatalities of three members of the work crew stationed there to replace a guard rail.

The truck driver, who suffered no serious injuries, was released on an unsecured bond and charged with three counts of misdemeanor death. Alcohol is not a known factor in this incident. However, the trucking company’s questionable record may help substantiate a wrongful death claim the surviving family members could file against the trucking company that caused the deaths.
